Bruce was a Pharmacist, and concurrently an active Member of the NZ Professional Photographers Institute 1979-99. He retired in 2011 after 57 years as a Pharmacist, and he is now married,  retired, and in his 79th year.

1966 Joined PSNZ 1968 Appointed to the PSNZ Panel of Judges in Pictorial, and Natural History Prints and Projected images.
1961 Founder Member and later 1978  Life Member of Manurewa Photographic Society.
1972 Elected to PSNZ Council until 1975
1972 Chaired Northern Regional Convention run by Manurewa Photographic Society
1975 Keynote Speaker at PSNZ Annual Convention Auckland. ” A beginners Approach to Colour Printing at Home ”
1977 Workshop at National Convention Tauranga  ” Printing Cibachrome” at home.
1978 Joined NZ Professional Photographers Association.
1982 Gained my Associateship in NZPPA now NZ Institute of Professional Photographers.
2000 Gained my APSNZ with a set of transparencies.
2002 Gained FPSNZ in Creative Pictorial Prints on “Sky Tower”
2003  Keynote speaker at Northern Regional in Thames Introducing Digital imagery as a viable alternative to film
2005 Gained Double FPSNZ in Digital Nature, with two sets on Kotuku Feeding and Fishing techniques, and Kotuku at breeding colony
2010 Appointed to PSNZ Honours Board and served 6 years.

Served 3 times on the selection Panel for the PSNZ International Salons run in the 1950s, 60s 70s and 80s.
On the Natex Panel, on numerous occasions in Prints and Projected images,  Pictorial Slides 1973,  1975,  1979 and Natural History slides 2009 and 2011 and NH Prints 2009 & 2011. Can’t remember what years I did Pictorial Prints

Served on the Judging Panel for NZIPP during the 1980s.
Served on the panel for Northshore Salon.
Judged Tokoroa Salon twice.

Bruce says “my years with PSNZ have been an absolutely wonderful and rewarding experience, and although my exhibiting days are probably over, I will continue to judge as long as I am required, and or able and competent”
